'Kimi ga Nozomu Gensou' means 'The Fantasy you Desire' (It's a parody of 'Kimi ga Nozomu Eien', 'The Eternity you Desire'.)Well, this is a cross-over parody of the Final Fantasy series and Kimiita series. You all know how much I love crossovers! The image was supposed to look like the cover to Final Fantasy X-2 International version. The characters are all from the Kimiita series:Ibuki Jun: Green hair. He's from 'Critical Moment! Daikuuji', a fandisk for Akane Maniax/MuvLuv Extra. He was also the main character in 'Ayu Mayu Alternative'.Gouda Jouji: Black hair.

He's from 'Akane Maniax', but also appears in 'Ayu Mayu Alternative'. He's in my top 5 favourite character in the entire series, since he's just so crazy. He's considered a joke character by Age (the company).Kagami Sumika: Red hair. The main female character in the 'MuvLuv' games, but was first seen in 'Akane Maniax'. She's also in my top 5 favourite characters.' Final Maniax 90: Alternative'. I like that title, lol.
Both the Kimiita series and Final Fantasy series keep getting new games created for them, so '90' might not be so extreme a number. The most recent Kimiita game is Haruko Maniax, but since I HATE Kashiwagi Haruko (she was a minor, MINOR character in MuvLuv), I doubt I'll get it. UPDATE I got it. It actually was a pretty good game, as the character of Taichi, one of Haruko's younger brothers, is a great protagonist.' Age Enix': a parody of Agesoft and Square Enix, duh.The 'Game Guy' was a parody of the Game Boy in MuvLuv.The robot above the title is called a 'Senjutsuki' or 'TSF'.For those who dont know, 'PAL' is the Euro region code on games. And yes, that IS a Keyblade that Jouji is holding. It's based on the pilot uniforms in MuvLuv (and it even has the kana for 'MuvLuv' as the teeth, except I accidentally made the stylized 'ma' マ at the beginning look more like the stylized 'a' ア used in Ayu Mayu Alternative. Whoops). The alien thing in the background is a 'Venator' class 'BETA'.I think that's it for the explanation.

Is it still worth watching it? I can already imagine what happens in Kiminozo.Actually I didn't like the characters that much except Suzumiya, I wonder if that would've been different if I had seen Kiminozo first.
On the other hand I loved Akane Maniax (mainly because it made me forget about Alternative a bit, lol), I wish there were more episodes. I love this show and for the longest time was baffled how lowly rated it is on MAL. It is a little gem that i've found long ago and im glad that others have finally noticed it too. Fwiw, im almost in the camp of enjoying school days (8/10), and rate white album 2 very highly (9.4/10). That and nana is in my top 5 goat anime. So, yeah i enjoy the drama fest with a sprinkle of realism to it (yes, school days is quite 'real' for the most part. Google real social dynamics and get educated about that kind of world).
Definitely one of the more intriguing dramas out there, and one of the first morally ambiguous titles I watched as well. When I recommend this to people in or the megathread, I always tell them that the first episode may start off a bit slowly, yet definitely picks up before the first ED rolls. Though I am also tempted to warn them that I had both hated and loved every single character at different times, I generally leave that part out unless it's specific to the request. The art may be a little dated, but that's no reason to refuse to watch Rumbling Hearts.
(Plus it has one of my favorite school uniform designs. Seriously, those are so cute.).
